APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand), a novel member of the TNF family. Two receptors for APRIL, TACI and BCMA were recently identified. APRIL stimulates B and T cell proliferation, triggers humoral immune responses, activates NF-κB, and induces cell death. APRIL is associated with autoimmune diseases and cancer.
