Primary antibodies
Covalab polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are tested to work in major applications: Western Blot (WB), Immunochemistry (IC) - such as Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunogold labelling, etc. - Flow Cytometry (FC) and ELISA. Browse over 12,000 primary antibodies to popular as well as rare targets covering major research areas: Neuroscience, Cancer, Epigenetics, Cell signalling, Stem Cells etc.
Secondary antibodies
Secondary antibodies are polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies that bind to primary antibodies or antibody fragments (Fc or Fab regions). Labelled with probes, secondary antibodies are a powerful detection tool in many applications including: Immunopurification, ELISA, Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry, Cell based assays and Flow Cytometry.
Kits
In order to provide you with full solutions, Covalab also developed reliable and useful kits to use in major applications such as: Western Blotting, ELISA and Dot Blot. Transglutaminase Micro Assay kits
About Transglutaminases
Transglutaminases (TGs) are a family of enzymes that are widely distributed in all living organisms. Transglutaminases catalyse Ca2+ dependent acyl-transfer between specific glutamyl residues of peptides/proteins (glutamyl substrate) and primary amines of peptidyl lysine residues or polyamines (lysyl substrate).
Dysregulation in either the expression and function of transglutaminases contribute to pathological conditions, such as cancer metastasis, tissue fibrosis, celiac disease, neurodegenerative disorders, and diseases related to defective assembly of the stratum corneum of the skin. Please visit our Transglutaminase products section where you can find antibodies, kits and proteins for your research.
Covalab's kits for transglutaminase detection: TG CovTest
Covalab developed several kits to detect with high specificity:
- TG1 keratinocyte transglutaminase (TG1-CovTest)
- TG2 tissue transglutaminase (TG2-CovTest).
- TG3 epidermal transglutaminase (TG3-CovTest).
- FactorXIII plasmatic Transglutaminase (FXIII-CovTest)
- Microbial / bacterial Transglutaminase (MTG-CovTest)
Our kits are based on ELISA capture and provide:
- High specificity: the peptide coated on the plate is a specific substrate of each enzyme
- High sensitivity: increased sensitivity compared to gold standard radiometric methods
- User-friendly and fast protocol: our assay offers you all the advantages of ELISA testing
- Quantification: colorimetric assay allow you to quantify enzyme levels
Covalight chemiluminescent reagent
Covalight is an exclusive Covalab's product that will light your day. Our combination of a chemiluminescent substrate and an enhancer formulation will yield an excellent performance in immunoassays. Chemiluminescence provides better sensitivity compared to fluorescent or colorimetric detection methods.
Chemiluminescence is the conversion of chemical energy to light energy. Energy produced during the chemical reaction is released as light energy as the reaction products decompose and decay from a high energy state to a lower energy state.
Covalight combines both a subtrate and a signal enhancer for Horse Radish Peroxidase. This formulation renders both superior sensitivity and kinetic performance compared to numerous HRP/luminol-based detection systems.
Covalight advantages:
- Simple and fast protocol: only two reagents
- High sensitivity: with Covalight a detection sensitivity of 10 pg is achieved
- Quick light emission: only a few seconds exposure are needed to reach peak light signal intensity
- Long lasting signal: the signal is sustained over 3 hours allowing great flexibility in assay measurement
Plates
Adsorption of haptens on conventional microtiter plate is often unsuccessful. To overcome this problem Covalab developed the Covabtest plates, a 96-well microtiter plates functionalised with either amino, carboxyl or succinimidylic ester groups. These plates are able to covalently immobilise peptides or other haptens containing carboxyl (Hapten-COOH) or amino groups (Hapten-NH2).
- Covabtest Amine plate (Opr 0004)
- Covabtest Carboxyl plate (Opr 0005)
- Covabtest NHS activated plate (Opr 0006)
For example Covabtest (Opr 0006) is particulary useful to couple peptides on N-ter (see figure)
